Hidden Calories in Alcohol Print E-mail
Alcohol is one of the greatest causes of diet failure. Not many people think about alcohol containing calories, but alcohol does have calories. Depending on what type of drink you are consuming the alcohol calories could be quite high.  Alcohol calories are just like any other calories that you have in your diet, because there are starches and sugars in almost every alcoholic drink. If you are trying to lose weight, think about the alcohol calories that you may be putting into your body and what you need to cut back on to lose weight.

Alcohol may make you feel really full, but if you are sipping at your drink or if you are drinking a few alcoholic drinks at a time, you could be adding an excessive amount of calories to your diet. Very few people actually think about the alcohol calories they are drinking, but if you are on a diet you need to make this one of your primary concerns.

Read the labels on the bottle, and if you find that you don't know how many calories are in any bottle of beer, or in any mixed drink you are drinking, you should consult a calorie counters online and find out. If you are drinking alcohol calories that are particularly high, you should also consider changing what you are drinking until you lose weight, and add additional exercise into your routine.

Many bars or pubs limit the number of drinks that one person can buy in one night, but if you are not watching the calories you are drinking you are not likely to experience much success with your diet. Most drinks have very little fat in them, but there is more to the calories that are in the alcohol than fat.

Alcohol calories get into your body, and then most social drinkers go home and go to bed for the night, leaving all those calories to be absorbed into your body where they would create fat storage. Cut back on the calories in your alcohol and find your diet will be a greater success!
